Black box attacks using flexible endoscopes are being used in Mexico as part of a black box attack campaign. The technology was developed 150 years ago to help doctors look inside bodies, and later updated with lights and cameras. Black boxes get plugged into ATMs and instruct it to dispense cash on demand in what is referred to as a jackpotting or cash-out attack. At least 114 black box attacks have been reported against ATMs in Europe in the first half of the year, a three-fold increase from 28 in 2016.”]
