A hacker is wiping open MongoDB instances with a ransom note. Victor Gevers has been notifying owners of exposed MongoDB servers for years. Gevers said a hacker going by Harak1r1 was responsible for wiping the database contents and leaving behind the ransom. Some of the victims have been paying the ransom to recover the data.
