September 2014 Yahoo Transparency Report

Yahoo published its third Transparency Report, which reveals that it fielded fewer requests for user data than the previous reporting period. The company also reported that it received between 0-999 National Security Letters. The technology giant fielded more than 18,000 data requests over the first six months of 2013. In more than 4,200 requests, Yahoo complied and handed over non-content data, 1,396 or 21 percent of the time, complied with requests to disclose user data. This is Yahoo s third report, and the numbers show almost 3,000 fewer requests.
