Princeton professor Ed Felten is new White House deputy chief technology officer. Felten, a computer science and public affairs professor at Princeton, will work out of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. He has been outspoken about the federal government, including the NSA and the FBI. He started a brouhaha on social media over the qualifications of Michael Daniel to be White House cybersecurity coordinator and special assistant to the president, based on comments Daniel made in an interview he had with me in which he sees his lack of technical expertise as an asset.”]
