Girls Around Me App Voluntarily Pulled After Privacy Backlash

App maker i-Free Innovations voluntarily removes Girls Around Me from App Store. App allowed you to identify girls who have checked into venues near your location based on publicly available data from Facebook and Foursquare. App maker says the app’s “goals, purpose, abilities, and restrictions” were misunderstood. It’s unclear whether the app will return to the App Store, but the company is also working on an Android version. The app shows how putting too much information about yourself online can lead to it being misused in ways you never anticipated.”]
