The Intel NUC and Nvidia Shield both are vulnerable to high-severity flaws, Intel and Nvidia warned in dual advisories. Impacted are the Nvidia Shield TV and Intel’s NUC mini-PC kit. Both flaws rank 7.6 out of 10.0 on the CVSS scale, making them high level of vulnerability. To exploit either flaw, an attacker would need to be local, and already have existing permissions as a user of the NUC to exploit the flaws. Intel is releasing firmware updates to mitigate these potential vulnerabilities, but Nvidia did not release further details about what types of privileges attackers would need.
