FTC Sues D-Link Over Failure to Secure Its Routers and IP Cameras from Hackers

FTC sues D-Link for failing to implement necessary security protection in its routers and Internet-connected security cameras that left “thousands of consumers at risk” The move comes as cyber criminals have been hijacking poorly secured internet-connected devices to launch massive DDoS attacks that can force major websites offline. The FTC filed a lawsuit against Taiwan-based D-link on Thursday, accusing the company of several violations of the FTC Act. In response to the complaint, the company released a statement saying that the charges brought against it are “unwarranted and baseless”
