Forensic experts fuse technology, intelligence for investigations

The New York Times is reporting that investigators at the University of Toronto and elsewhere have had to adapt to the shift in tactics by the attackers. Researchers are pursuing what they describe as a fusion methodology, in which they look at Internet data in the context of real world events. The most vexing issue facing both law enforcement and other cyberspace investigators is this question of attribution The famous New Yorker magazine cartoon in which a dog sits at a computer keyboard and points out to a companion, on the Internet, nobody knows you’re a dog, is no joke for cyberdetectives.
