Flying to Defcon with no ID

Sherri Davidoff flew out to Defcon this week without using any ID. The TSA changed its policy in June barring travelers who refuse to show ID from flying. Davidoff wanted to see how the new TSA system worked. Without ID, she couldn’t get a beer on the plane. The new policy does not improve security, Davidoff says, but it does come at a price for being able to fly with no ID on her way to the convention. An attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation says her experience shows the theatrical nature of airport security.”]
