U.K.-based fashion brand French Connection confirmed it has been compromised by ransomware group REvil. Grupo Fleury, a Brazilian medical diagnostics firm, was hit with the same group hours later. The attack is part of a larger REvil campaign against Brazil-based companies, threat intelligence analyst says. The group is demanding $5 million for a decryptor to decrypt the files and is known for exfiltrating PII and medical data. The French Connection attack was likely one of opportunity, to prove any company can be breached, anywhere, experts say.
