FCC Claims It Was Hit by Denial Of Service Attack After John Oliver Segment [Update]

John Oliver told viewers to submit comments to the FCC via a domain they bought, gofccyourself.com, and submit comments in favor of net neutrality. Not long after the Oliver segment aired, the FCCs website crashed. The FCC is now claiming it was the target of multiple distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. The agency’s statement raises a lot more questions than it answers, including the dearth of details in the statement. If the DDoS attack really did occur, it’s easy to see this as the FCC attempting to distract from getting epically owned commenters.”]
