The Wall Street Journal reported that the FBI has hacked Android devices and personal computers using malware. The FBI has also developed custom software to intercept Internet metadata in real time. The U.S. government is now the world’s largest buyer of malware. It has also asked Internet companies to provide surveillance stands to benefit from CISPA and is also involved in the PRISM scandal alongside the NSA. The former FBI official claimed that the method is restricted to those associated with child pornography, organized crime, or counterterrorism.
