Facebook faces class action lawsuit over childrens online purchases

A judge has ruled that Facebook must face a class action lawsuit over the way it accepts payments from minors. The lawsuit arose in April 2012 after two children and their parents protested Facebooks refusal to offer refunds for online currency purchases made by the children without their parents knowledge or authorisation. Facebook says it will only issue refunds on a case by case basis, adding that minors (anyone aged 13 or over can sign up for a Facebook account) can only use Facebook Payments the successor to Facebook Credits if they have their parents’ permission.”]
