Facebook Encourages Bug Hunting in Third-Party Services

Facebook updated terms of its bug bounty program for third-party services integrating with the platform to increase rewards received by researchers. Last year, Facebook paid $1.1 million in bounties issued for more than 700 valid reports. The minimum payout of $500 still applies for valid reports, but there is no reward ceiling. The amount of a reward is limited by its impact and the terms of the program. The move is designed to improve the privacy and security of Facebook users, even when the flaws are not related to Facebook’s code.
