Experts: OpenBSD Backdoor Allegations ‘Almost Certainly False’

Allegations that developers working under the auspices of the FBI and Justice Department planted a backdoor in the IPSec stack of the OpenBSD operating system are likely just that, experts say. Security experts say that not only is it implausible that the FBI would conspire to plant a vulnerability into a widely distributed open-source package, but it’s also an allegation that s very difficult to disprove. One of the developers that Perry mentions in his email to De Raadt is a man named Jason L. Wright, who co-authored the original paper on the OpenBS Cryptographic Framework in 2003, said he knows nothing about a backdoor.
