EU Member States Publish Joint Report on 5G Networks Security

European Union (EU) member states published a joint high-level report on the security of 5G networks. It identifies the main threats and threats actors, the most sensitive assets, and the main vulnerabilities behind them. The report highlights the hazards behind using a single equipment supplier, as well as the shortage of equipment and 5G solutions diversity. This greatly extends the overall vulnerability of the 5G infrastructure both at the EU and national levels, “in particular if a large number of operators source their sensitive assets from a supplier presenting a high degree of risk”””
