Dropbox reports a steady rise in government data requests

Dropbox says it received 268 government requests for user data requests in the first half of 2014. The company says the number of requests keeps pace with the growth of its user base. Google received around 27,000 requests during the second half of 2013, Dropbox says. In the past six months, Dropbox said it did not receive any government data requests for information on Dropbox for Business accounts in the last six months of that period. In some cases, law enforcement agencies want Dropbox to keep those requests secret.”]
