The U.S. Department of Justice has charged two Chinese nationals with hacking into the computer systems of hundreds of organizations in the US and abroad to steal intellectual property. Prosecutors say the suspects activities included probing for vulnerabilities in systems at companies developing COVID-19 vaccines, treatments and testing technologies. The pair, who live in China, are unlikely to face trial on the charges.
