DDoS-for-hire services known as booters or stressers are used by malicious actors, pranksters, or hacktivists to launch large-scale DDoS cyberattacks against a targeted site or online service. The U.S. Department of Justice issued a notification to raise awareness among victims of the Quantum Stresser Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) for-hire service operated by David Bukoski. The DoJ has scheduled a restitution hearing on May 5, 2020, at 10:30 A.M. in Anchorage.
