Documents in Long-Running Yahoo FISC Challenge Case Published

A cache of 1,500 pages of documents declassified by the federal government related to a six-year-old fight between Yahoo and the government. The company received a series of orders under the predecessor to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act the Protect America Act to turn over information on Yahoo users overseas. Yahoo officials requested that the documents be declassified, and eventually agreed, an extremely rare event. At one point, the U.S. Government threatened the company with $250,000 in fines per day if it refused to comply with the order.
