DHS urges online users to avoid using Internet Explorer, versions 6 through 11, in light of a vulnerability. The vulnerability can allow for a remote, unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code on a vulnerable system. The European Network and Information Security Agency issued an alert April 28, saying this exploit is a “serious zero-day attack on society” Microsoft acknowledges it’s aware of “limited, targeted attacks that attempt to exploit a vulnerability” in Internet Explorer. The company says the exploit is significant because the vulnerable browsers represent about a quarter of the browser market.”]
