Despite Security Hiccups, IE6 Usage Still High

Despite widespread calls to boycott IE 6 and Microsoft s plans to retire support for the browser, 19% of respondents in a Virus Bulletin poll said that they are still running the browser. 15% said they were still running IE 6 at work, indicating that upgrading is not a priority. Researchers identify malware existing in popular add-ons for Facebook, Vimeo, Instagram and others that are commonly used in browsers from Google and Microsoft. 83 percent of the Top 30 U.S. retailers have vulnerabilities which pose an imminent cyber-threat, including Amazon, Costco, Kroger and Walmart.
