Dell customer email addresses accessed in Epsilon breach

A security breach at Epsilon, a large US-based email marketing service provider, occurred on March 30. The email addresses of customers of around 50 companies were accessed by an unauthorised user or users. Dell Australia joins companies like Visa, Disney, Best Buy, Citigroup and several international banks in having its customer email databases compromised. The theft of these email addresses could mean an influx of spam or targeted ‘phishing’ emails to current and previous Dell customers of Dell. The breach is not known whether Dell users in other regions are affected.”]
