Security researcher Patrick Wardle has found a simple way to bypass one of the core security features in Mac OS X i.e. Gatekeeper. Gatekeeper is Apple’s anti-malware feature designed to keep untrusted and malicious applications from wreaking havoc on Macs. Wardle’s exploit works on OS X Yosemite, and all versions, including El Capitan, the upcoming release. The researcher privately alerted Apple of the vulnerability more than 60 days ago, and the company is working on a patch that will be delivered to users.
