Discover Financial has reported a possible merchant data breach that could have compromised user accounts to the State of California Attorney General s office. Rubrik, the City of St. John in New Brunswick, Canada and the State Bank of India all reported exposures this week. The IT security and cloud data management giant Rubrik exposed a whole cache of customer information, improperly stored in an Amazon Elacsticsearch database, allowing access to pretty much anyone on the internet. The exposed server wasn t protected with a password, allowing the company to pull the server offline Tuesday.
