Darknet markets sell fake vaccine certificates for use in multiple countries. Some countries require proof of vaccination to gain access to restaurants, bars, clubs or other establishments. Researchers reviewed vaccination certificate offerings from 17 marketplaces and 10 vendor shops. At least one vendor appears to be selling digital certificates, registered in Italy, that are being read as valid by mobile COVID-19 certificate-checking apps developed by both France and Denmark.
