Dallas-Based Restaurant Chain Confirms POS Breach

Dallas-based Elephant Bar restaurant chain says a malware attack apparently compromised payment cards at all of its 29 locations in seven states. Twenty restaurants in California, three in Colorado, two in Florida, Missouri, Nevada and New Mexico – were affected. The malware was designed to capture payment card information in real-time from the chain’s point-of-sale servers. Experts say POS malware attacks are increasingly being waged against smaller, regional merchants and restaurant chains, which have seemingly been easier-to-strike targets.”]
