Crooks target UK schools with Department of Education ransomware

Action Fraud is warning of Department of Education ransomware attacks. The criminals are asking victims to pay up to 8,000 to unlock data to unlock. They are initially asking for the head teachers email addresses, then target them with malicious messages. The messages are supposed to contain sensitive information and are sent to the head of the school in the hope of unlocking the encrypted files. The emails are meant to be sent directly from the head teachers email address.”]
