Credit Card Fraudster Gets 9 Years

Alper Erdogan was sentenced for conspiracy to commit computer hacking, credit card fraud and aggravated identity theft. At least 6,000 accounts have been identified by authorities as being compromised as part of the case. He made more than $1.2 million in fraudulent credit charges between June 2010 and March 2011. Erdogan was extradited to the U.S. to face the charges in February; he pleaded guilty on April 18. 17 individuals who used the stolen credit card numbers have been convicted of fraud.”]
