Court Says Comerica Bank Must Pay After Customer is Hacked

Michigan court rules Comerica Bank liable for US$560,000 cyberheist. Michigan auto-parts maker Experi-Metal sued the bank after a phishing attack two years ago. Bank says it should have done a better job to spot millions of dollars in fraudulent transactions. Michigan court’s decision is important because U.S. courts are only now starting to decide who should pay for these scams. Last week a Maine magistrate judge ruled in favor of the bank in a similar incident.”]
