Cops use fingerprint pulled from a WhatsApp photo to ID drug dealer

South Wales Police used a ‘groundbreaking’ fingerprint identification technique to identify a drug dealer who had a partial pinky in a photo sent via WhatsApp. The photo showed the middle and bottom portion of a pinky being enhanced to identify the suspect. Law enforcement is worried about going dark and law enforcement is looking at social media images and seized phones as potential fingerprinting identification evidence. Cops are now looking through social media photos, as well as images in seized phones, for potential fingerprints.”]
