A critical vulnerability in the Internet Key Exchange (IKE) code used in Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances (ASA) could allow an attacker to remotely execute code. There are no workarounds to this vulnerability, but Cisco has released a patch. In general, most people think of installing the vendors patch as a first resort, but it may not always be feasible. In some cases, it can take a vendor days or weeks to issue a patch; some systems might not be able to accommodate it.”]
