Configuration errors blamed for sensitive data exposed via Google Groups

Researchers say they’ve discovered hundreds of organizations exposing sensitive data via Google Groups. RedLock discovered the configuration problems by searching for publicly exposed groups within the top 1,000 most visited websites on Alexa. The Weather Company, Freshworks Inc. and SpotX are among the companies named in their advisory. Freshworks, Inc. fixed the issue in less than an hour and corrected all the permission problems, RedLock says. Google, for their part, has extensive configuration and security documentation for Google Groups, the company says.”]
