Companies focus on growth, lagging behind threat

LinkedIn, dating site eHarmony and music site Last.fm among recent data breaches. CEO Shellye Archambeau says too many companies are stuck in the mentality that some security is enough. LinkedIn was protecting passwords with only the most basic encryption last week. Some argue for legal or regulatory penalties for breaches for companies with a devil-may-care attitude toward data.
