Comcast resets nearly 200,000 passwords after customer list goes on sale

A Dark Web marketplace was selling a list of 590,000 Comcast email addresses and passwords on the Dark Web. Comcast confirmed that none of their systems or apps had been compromised. The majority of the records being sold are almost certainly recycled information. The odds are good that Comcast themselves were the customers exposed, especially given how fast they scrubbed the list and reset the customer accounts. Comcast will assume the passwords on matching accounts are valid and force a reset and will be dealt with case-by-case cases.”]
