Cloudflare and APNIC released a new DNS resolver service that connects users to servers closer to them. The service is geared towards privacy by not logging any IP addresses to disk and wiping all transaction logs within 24 hours. Users have complained that the Android app requires permission to record audio from a phone’s microphone and has access to photos and USB storage. The app is available now for Android and iOS and can be easily enabled by simply toggling it on in the app. Users can also use the app to reroute DNS traffic through the app so that it utilizes the 1.1.1 DNS servers.
