Google says it will allow enterprise admins to use the fully-featured webRequest ad blocking API for free even after the Manifest V3 Extensions platform changes will take effect. Developer of uBlock Origin and uMatrix says the blocking ability of the webRequest API is still deprecating and will only allow for developers to observe network requests. Google Chrome’s limited matching algorithm will be the only one possible, and with limits dictated by Google employees, says Developer Advocate for Chrome Extensions at Google Simeon Vincent.
