CEO Fraud Attackers Seek Personal Details, FBI Warns

The FBI is warning U.S. businesses of a new type of business email compromise scam. The FBI has revised its tally of losses attributed to BEC attacks at more than $3 billion through the end of May. Experts say two-factor authentication for email is not going to mitigate risks associated with BEC. The best way to reduce risk is to eliminate email approval for wire transfers, expert says. Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center president says companies also should enhance email security by using cryptographic techniques.”]
