CEO Charged for Selling Fake Cisco Networking Equipment

A 38-year-old Florida man has been indicted for allegedly selling $1 billion worth of counterfeit Cisco network equipment. Onur Aksoy allegedly orchestrated a massive and fraudulent operation to traffic in counterfeit goods from August 2013 through to 2022. The operation generated over $100 million in revenue, the Justice Department says. The devices were made to appear as “new and genuine devices manufactured by Cisco,” the indictment says. Customers of the fraudulent and counterfeit devices included hospitals, schools, government agencies and the military.”]
