Carinthia, Austria Approves Ransomware Recovery Plans

Carinthia, Austria, has set aside a budget of 500,000 euros to restore services and boost cybersecurity. Minutes of the Carinthian government meeting show that the funds will help with the procurement of a new “firewall system” as part of an immediate post-attack measure. The state’s press service says that the state’s electronic data processing system, which was affected by the attack, is functional again, allowing the issuance of passports to resume. No evidence yet of data being stolen during the attack says an investigation is ongoing.”]
