Kaspersky discovered that a multinational gang of hackers dubbed Carbanak cybergang has stolen at least $300 million from 100 financial institutions. The majority of victims were hit are in Russia, but the malware hit also banks in Japan, Europe and in the United States. The attacks started in 2013 and may still be ongoing, according to the experts. The hackers have named the criminal crew Carbanak Cybergang because of the name of the malware they used. The malware based attacks could be one of the biggest bank thefts ever.”]
