Daniel Caprio Jr. has been named Chief Privacy Officer at the US Department of Commerce. Previously Caprio served for six years as special assistant and chief of staff for FTC Commissioner Orson Swindle. Caprio has held the position of deputy assistant secretary for technology policy since May. He now adds the duties of former CPO Elizabeth Prostic, who recently departed for a private sector position (see related Movers and Shakers item) in the U.S. Dept. of Commerce.”]
