California Threats App Developers with $2,500 Fine Per Download for Violating Privacy Law

California Attorney General Kamala Harris is notifying app developers and companies to post privacy notices for users or risk fines of up to $2,500 every time their app is downloaded. Amazon, Apple, Google, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft and Research In Motion already complied with the new mobile-app privacy law in February. Facebook also agreed to the terms in June, with the help of the California Online Privacy Protection Act. The privacy policy should be read by users before downloading and installing the app and not afterwards.”]
