California DMV customers may be affected by a credit card breach

California’s Department of Motor Vehicles says a credit card payment processor was hacked. The state agency says it’s investigating the matter and is monitoring credit card activity. If you think you may be affected, contact your credit card company at once and alert them. This can help prevent an unauthorized person from opening financial accounts in your name, the agency says. You should also place a fraud alertA on your credit report, just in case of a breach of your card account, the DMV advises you to do this already.”]
