BWL nearly recovered from cyberattack

The Board of Water & Light is expected to be completely recovered from last week’s cyberattack on its corporate network by Friday. The utility shut down its accounting and email systems last week after an employee unknowingly opened an email with a malware-infected attachment. As of Wednesday night, BWL staff had scanned about 80% of the computers; the process takes about three hours per computer. The security breach didn’t affect any of BWL’s power and water utilities; it’s unclear if one or more people were involved.”]
