Business Email Compromise (BEC) Attacks Moving to Mobile

Business Email Compromise (BEC) scammers have started to go mobile by utilizing SMS messaging to direct their targets. BEC scams are conducted via email by spear-phishing a target and then directing victims to perform various actions. Using SMS texts makes this process easier as the attackers can ask the victims to send pictures of the scratched off codes back to them via text. Using Google Voice makes it easy for scammers to conduct operations against multiple targets at once by sending their texts via the desktop web site.
