Broadcom has agreed to buy cloud and virtualization giant VMware for $61 billion. The deal will be the second largest enterprise technology acquisition of all time. Michael Dell and Silver Lake have signed agreements to vote in favor of the deal. Broadcom-VMWare deal is expected to close in the fiscal year starting Nov. 1, 2022. Software will account for 49% of revenue from the combined Broadcom and VMware business, and the acquisition will close in November 2022.
