British Security Services Tie North Korea to WannaCry

British security services have concluded WannaCry was launched by individuals tied to North Korea, the BBC reports. Security experts have long recommended taking such reports with a grain of salt. The BBC reported Friday that the U.K.’s National Cyber Security Center, part of the GCHQ intelligence agency, believes the Lazarus hacking group launched the attack. The Washington Post, citing unnamed sources, reported Thursday that the National Security Agency has “moderate confidence” that the attack is linked to N. Korea. The U.S. Computer Emergency Response Team warned Thursday that North Korean hackers have been targeting the media, aerospace, financial and critical infrastructure sectors since 2009.”]
