BGP errors are to blame for Mondays Twitter outage, not DDoS attacks

Early Monday morning morning, Twitter went dark for about thirty minutes. The outage was similar to the DDoS attack in October, but the root cause is different. Mondays outage was a technical error caused by misconfigured BGP routes. BGP isnt regulated, so there is no single authority responsible for its management and maintenance.
