He said nation-state groups are increasingly using mobile devices as an infection vector. WhatsApp is a prime example of how mobile devices are increasingly becoming targeted by nation state-sponsored attacks. WhatsApp has become a significant attack surface; it s used by 1.5 billion people globally, making it ripe for cybercriminals. The price tag for vulnerability on social media and instant messaging has reached $1 million, he said.
